Would you like your customers to be able to make a booking even if the respective experience has already started? This is usually the case for museums, exhibitions and amusement parks. Let your customers book spontaneously during your opening hours with bookingkit! In this article you will learn how to set it up.

Steps how to set up recurring appointments:

Activate the module Opening Hours

First activate the respective module under Settings > Modules

Set opening hours in your experiences

Opening hours are applied in bookingkit on experience level, and once you have activated the module, you can decide whether the respective experience has a fixed duration or if it should be available throughout your opening hours.

In this case the duration of the experience equals your opening hours, i.e. if you are open for 8 hours a day, this is also the duration of the respective experience.

Until what time should your customers be able to book experiences taking place that same day?

Are you open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., but the last possible entry is at 5:00 p.m.? When creating a new experience or editing an already existing one, you can set the last booking option accordingly, e.g. at 5:00 p.m. or at 4:30 p.m. so that the customer enters at 5:00 p.m.

So if you don't want to accept online bookings for the same day one hour before you close, you can simply set the last booking option to 1 hour:

Appointment definition

Once you have defined your opening hours, you have to define the appointments, i.e. days on which this or that experience takes place. The only difference to your usual appointment definition is that you have to set the start of the experiences that shall be available to book during the opening hours to the time you are opening, 10:00 a.m. for example.

Customer view

Your customers can book as per usual. However, once a date has been selected, the customer is shown the associated opening time rather than individual appointments. The generated PDF ticket is valid on the whole day.

Different prices and opening hours

Flexible pricing for events:

You can use our Flexible pricing for events module to set different prices on different days. As soon as you have activated the corresponding module under Settings> Modules, you can create up to three price lists in the experience, which can be used during appointment definition. Have a look at our detailed guide!

Multiple durations:

Do your opening hours on weekdays differ from those during the week? The Multiple Durations module that you similarly find under Settings> Modules allows you to set different opening hours and to define appointments accordingly. Read the respective article on how to set up flexible experience duration before you hit the ground running!
