Instructions to activate the Megara App and connect the data to your bookingkit account.

General Details

The integration with Megara allows vendors to synchronise offline and online bookings from bookingkit to Megara, and allow your customers to use the Megara access systems and POS system from iPads and iPhones.

Costs of Integration

  • By bookingkit: Free

    • bookingkit will not charge any extra fee for activating and running the Megara app. This only refers to the fees charged by bookingkit to use this app.

  • By Megara: Free

    • Megara will not charge any extra fee for activating the connection, but you must be subscribed to any of their paid plans. This information is subject to change without notice so please refer to the details published on the Megara website or contact the Megara team for more details.

Requirements

To be able to activate the integration between Megara and bookingkit you must meet the following criteria:

1. Be signed up to the Businesskit or Prokit in bookingkit. Check you current plan and/or upgrade it here.

2. Have an active account with Megara.

3. Be subscribed to any of the Megara plans.

4. Enable the module Extended Availability Management in your bookingkit account. To enable it, go to Modules management.

Important Notes Before Activation

1. When you activate the Megara app all your existing experiences in your bookingkit account are automatically created in Megara. So it is important to note that if you already have the experiences in Megara you can end up with duplicated items.

2. All existing orders that are created in bookingkit (via Widget, Marketing Channels etc.) can be synchronised to Megara at the time the app is activated. Please remember to request this to the Megara team at the time of activation.

Activation Process

1. In the left-hand navigation menu click on the App Marketplace icon to view the list of Apps available.

2. Look for the Megara App and click on the "Learn More" button.

3. On the Megara page click on the "Activate" button. You must also click on the "Activate" button in the popup that appears to confirm the activation.

4. As soon as the Megara App is activated, a new item called Megara opens in the left-hand navigation menu. Click on it to continue to the next step.

5. On the page that opens, there are 2 possible scenarios:

a. If you don't have a Megara account yet or haven't activated the app in the past you will have to complete a form. After entering your details and clicking on "Submit Request" the Megara support team will contact you within 24 hours.

b. If you already have a Megara account and have done the integration with their app in the past, the page will show a shortcut to access the Megara app.

6. The Megara team will configure the settings of your account and inform you when the activation is completed.

Additional Information

1. Updates from bookingkit to Megara take up to 5 minutes to appear in Megara, but updates from Megara to bookingkit are instant.

2. After activation, in case you need to update any of the information of your existing experiences you must do it from the bookingkit backend in the Experiences page, and any changes will be synced with Megara automatically.

3. After activation, in case you need to update an order you must do it from the bookingkit backend in the Orders page, and any changes will be synced with Megara automatically.

4. If you want to setup some follow-up time for an experience (e.g. in case you need to give extra time for customers to exit your venue), please make the changes directly from your Megara account.

5. All orders created in bookingkit (via the bookingkit widget on your website, marketing partner, reseller, etc.) are pulled instantly by Megara when your customers scan the ticket codes at the turnstiles.

6. Orders created in Megara are not pushed to bookingkit. However, Megara automatically reduces the total availability for the time slots in bookingkit.

7. Experiences that are deleted in bookingkit are only deactivated in Megara. They appear in the Megara backend as deactivated and are not displayed in the user interface of the cash register. If they are reactivated in Megara then they are no longer in sync as long as the event is not activated in bookingkit.
