How to get started with bookingkit-reach and resellers' integrations?

What is Google Things to Do?

Google Things to do (GTTD) enables end customers to book experiences and activities directly on your bookingkit widget and other booking channels (like GetYourGuide, Viator...) when searching for a point of interest (POI) or an attraction on various surfaces such as Google search or google maps.

Admission and Google maps surfaces

Experiences surface

You can be listed here if your experience provides an admission ticket to the point of interest.

Example: Climbing experience Eiffel tower with an entry ticket.

You can be listed here regardless of whether your experience provides or not an admission ticket to the point of interest.

Example: Climbing experience Eiffel tower with an entry ticket OR Bike Guided tour of Paris (Eiffel tower and main attractions)

How to activate Google Things to Do?

  1. Review the following criteria

  • The content translation module must be activated AND your experiences' content must be available in English.

  • Your experience should

    • be bookable online. Experiences on request will not be published

    • have appointments in the future.

    • have a price list created. If your experience has multiple price lists, the main price list (first created, displayed at the top) should have appointments bookable in the future.

    • have a location set. It is crucial to select the name of the POI where you want to have your experiences. For example: if you wish to have your experiences on the Eiffel tower POI, you need to enter "Eiffel tower", not "Champ de Mars, 5 Av. Anatole France, 75007 Paris".

      • Not included: the experience does not includes an admission ticket to the POI

      • Not applicable: additional service which doesn't get the user into the related location, e.g. a parking ticket, a temporary exhibition, etc.

      • Note: if you wish to be listed on the admission surface: your experience must be tagged as self-guided with an admission ticket included

    • Select the landing page that must be used:

      • bookingkit widget: the experience widget accessible under "view experience" will be used as a landing page for the end customer.

      • Custom URL: a URL on your website that MUST contain the experience widget of the experience will be used as a landing page for the end customer.

4. Google will then put the product online if all conditions and terms are respected. Note: Google does not guarantee any timeline or even if the experience will be put online.

  • Cancellations: in bookingkit backend.

"Official site" tags

An "official site" tag is a tag that can be added to your listing on google things to do. This will help your experience to be listed in 1st place on the admission surface as the normal ranking is based on the lowest price.

  • Note: Google is also auto-creating such tags for some attractions. However, this is automatically taken from the official website and will likely be deprecated in the nearest future.

  • Warning: Please only tag experiences where you are the official provider of the entrance ticket for the point of interest where you wish to list your experiences. Otherwise, Google may block your experiences.

Most asked questions

I am an Attraction owner and I want to remove all re-sellers offering my tickets under my Attraction business listing. Bookingkit does not control or have any influence on this. We advise that you try to contact the resellers directly and request removal as they are the only ones that can do this. Google will not be able to remove these listings for you.

Can an Online Travel Agency or other resellers also list my tour and activity experiences? Yes, if that re-seller has direct integration into GTTD and has access to your product/s they may list your product and direct the user to complete the transaction on their site.

If I choose not to claim the “Official Site” button, will my admission ticket still be listed? Yes.

Can an Online Travel Agency or other resellers claim the “Official Site” tag? No. Only the business owner can claim the “Official Site” tag
